In which I, The Author, learn of the tragic Cancellation of my Direct Flight to Mazar-i Sharif, resulting in a Minor Panic Attack as I attempt to prepare Myself for The Alternative.
That pretty much explains it. All direct flights to Mazar have been canceled due to low demand, and my new course must be to fly to Kabul and take a 5-10 hour bus/taxi drive to Mazar. I say "5-10" because depending on weather, road closures, and the reported tendency of Afghani motorcyclists to race through the Salang Pass and summararily crash into you, the estimated length of the trip is hard to determine. All in all I was previously very much relieved that I could fly directly to Mazar, and having now been robbed of such comfort, I am currently trying to wrap my head around getting myself from Point A to Point B in a volatile, Anti-Western country.
But, thankfully, the Lord is my rear guard. My new verse-to-live-by is Isaiah 26:3- (edited for gender)
"You will keep in perfect peace her whose mind is steadfast, because she trusts in You."
